Ooh I had forgotten how much better this music sounds on headphones than it does through regular speakers. Anyways, quite a bit to update on, not a lot of time or motivation to do it. So, I'll be quick about it.

Most importantly: I got the job at GameCrazy!! Yesterday was my first day of work. And it was the midnight release for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Geh. BUT THE TOTALLY AWESOME THING. My manager says that he wants me to specialize in the portables and later the Wii department, so I get free reign over the PSP and DS stuff. And yesterday I was so bored (since i got there at 8 PM and they were just having a CoD tournament until it was time for the release), Edgar let me play with one of the DSes *A* So I played Devil Survivor (whoops, told Cara the wrong game haha) for an hour and a half. It wasn't very friendly :| There was story story story story story OKAY BATTLE TIMES AND YOU DIE. There was /no chance/ to save. So I died once, went back to where I had saved and went through it again this time picking more plot points until my only two options left were the fight that I had died in the first time or the new fight that popped up because of the plot I had gone through. I still died. They let you save in the middle of battle though, but it's a pretty useless feature. Since it will just take you back into the battle. And there aren't any smaller battles for you to level up on your way to the big guys, nor do you have the chance to auction for any stronger persona demons than the first ones you get. Anyways. It was still pretty fun.

I haven't been doing too well grade wise this quarter. I don't know yet what I got on my paper for ELit, but for Victorian lit I only got a C+ on my midterm D: I didn't read his reasons yet because his handwriting is a little hard to read and I was rushed yesterday, and I got a B- on my paper for medieval lit (though, that one I can't go "wtfwaitwhy?!" I totally brought it upon myself). Here's to hoping I'll pick up a bit. I dunno.... I need to email my Comp lit advisor also to see if there are any cross-listed classes or if I really can't just count and English class for my final bit of units for the minor.

Dance has been totally fun. My legs ache, but that's okay. At least my abs don't hurt as much as they did this time last week xDD I can do a reel now :DD and, I forgot to mention, basic jig and a hornpipe/hardshoe basic steps. It also turns out that Rachel is doing NaNo too :D All the girls at dance are totally awesome so it's really fun to go xD

I bought 40oz of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Yes I did. Gwen told me how K-Mart was selling a lot of Reeses and since i had to go there to buy clothes for work, I went "hell yeah I'm so getting me some Reeses". And so I did. And they are delicious.

Oh, another thing that deserves big font: I totally have Heart no Kuni no Alice for the PC *A*~!!!!! Aka yay shiny dating sim 8DDD At first I thought it was the PS2 version and was trying to figure out what I would need to do to burn it and then ask Pablo to mod the PS2 until I realised that "wait... this is for the PC!" When we have time, Kit and I are going to play it 8D the cast is super shiny.

I joined a new RP! It's kinderspiels. You all know that foreign names attract you and you totally want to join. The set up is the king has seven wives, and his children are all given the chance to compete for the throne. It's going to be really awesome, I can tell you that. It's also set in Victorian era. Which is hottttt hahaha (/biased) I've got three characters already: Rajesh (the oldest son of the sixth queen), Noah (daughter of the captain of the Royal Guard, steampunk inventor), and Dorian (illegitimate son, hemophiliac). The mods are fallacist and loveless_zero, though I'm considered one of the resident Victorian Experts hahaha I do urge you all to check it out. And if you do, you might want to consider apping more than one character if you have throne ambitions. There is the possibility of death *A*

We watched the first episode of season 2 of Darker than Black in anime club last week, and so I decided it was about time that I actually watched season 1. I got through... the first ten episodes so far? LOVING IT. Of course. I also love how each arc is only 2 episodes so I don't have to be like "omg I need to watch the next one I need to watch the next one (four episodes later) IT'S THE LAST ONE IN THE ARC OMGOMGOMG MUST WATCH" when it's 1 in the morning or w/e XDD

Anyways I need to go wash my face and get ready for work. It's so gloomy outside :| Yay for not having school tomorrow! yay for only having one day of classes this week kesese

- Thursday I get the keys to my new place 8D
- Power company has been called and I will have power for Thursday.
- Enterprise (fuck you, Uhaul) has been called, and I have a cargo van for 11am on the 21st.
- Tomorrow is the most importantly placed strategic holidy I've ever come upon. Other than being Rememberance Day for WWI soldiers and whatnot *hands out Poppies* it's also DESTRUCTION DAY for all my distructable furniture and Ikea things. Thank you very very much mid-month holiday!
- Also, mom takes my cats tomorrow
- I need to pop into RBC and be like "Hi, how do I get renters insurance D:?" Cause I kinda don't have that *sheepish look* it was a cement building :x kinda hard for it to go up in flames *makes excuses*
- I'm obviously feeling stressed over everything to some degree XD all I want to do is draw. Not fair. How come my drawing urges happen when I am stressed? Boo.
- And on the thought of Art, my job is the most creatively drainging activity on the face of the planet. :/

One of the earliest critiques I have gotten on OWW was from a published writer who said that my plot was good and my worldbuilding was good, but I had one giant issue that would prevent me from getting published unless I did something about it.

My characters were flat.

It was a fair criticism.  My characters were flat.  Even now the character work is probably my weakest point and I spend a lot of time on it.

So today is the anniversary of the Berlin Wall coming down. Perhaps the most dramatic symbol of the spread of freedom in the history of man.

At the end of World War 2, General Patton wanted to go to war with the soviets, claiming they were a greater danger then the nazis. Sadly, he was right and ignored. People behind the Iron Curtain suffered for years under communist tyranny, that slaughtered millions of it's own people and laid the foundations of most "terrorism" in the world today.

Ronald Reagan, ever believing in the cause of freedom, brought the call to "tear down this wall."

The only sad thing is that so many walls are still left standing, and so many more people suffer because of it.

*appears* Hi. 8D First time poster here nervously wandering in. Im new to this fandom and the extent of my creativity only reaches as far as AMVs so well I made one.

i've seriously been on a nostalgia trip for neuro manga lately, i miss it so, and I haven't been able to find matsui's new series' scanlations anywhere :(. I've sufficed with doujin for a while, but now that ninefourair is kind of done w/neuro, i've been scoping for a neuro-ish new manga to read. (but not Muhyo & Rohji >_>) So far, i've found this one called Infirmary Shinigami and it's pretty good for one chapter. Any other findings you could tell me about? Nothing can ever replace Neuro, but until viz europe releases these manga, or maybe the dvd, i need something that can even partially fill the void. About that, i'm thinking viz europe is releasing the manga, cuz in the description they say Neuro & Yako's ultimate foe is Sicks. Exciting :D they plan to release the whole shebang then?!?!

Just 1 game to play this week, and I did my running 4 days leading up to it so I was ready to go.

Internet was out for a couple days. Took some climbing in the attic but I manged to get things fixed, and without suffering injury!

I've been playing Final Fantasy Tactics this week, such a good game, such a weak storyline.

I've passed a couple tax certification levels with block now, Need to study my Farms a little more before I go back to take the next (yes farms as in Old McDonaled had one).

Been good on my running this week 4 miles in the books. I want to push hard through the end of the year working at getting in better shape. I'm really not satisfied with myself, I will start strong for a little bit then slack off.

Time for some softball!

This comes in response to some concerns raised on the forum. I do read a lot of forum entries, but I try to stay out of it mostly, because people should be able to express their opinions without me standing over their shoulder.

Some people are worried that if Kate and Curran get together, the tension that makes the series interesting for many readers will disappear. To that, I say, “Trust us.”

I will say that MAGIC BLEEDS is the most relationship-heavy book of the series. I know that there will be people who will wave their arms and lament on Amazon that their favorite series has been spoiled forever, turned into paranormal romance, taken into direction of LKH, and they will Never Buy Another Book Again. (I find it highly hilarious that every single recent book by Lisa Kleypas had at least one review that proclaimed that it was the worst book evah.) They would be wrong, but that’s totally fine. I’m okay with that. We have to write the best possible book we can, which is what we did. Not everyone will like it.

The Kate series moves forward with each book. The relationship between Kate and Curran has to go somewhere as well. Eventually all prospective couples reach the point of no return: that spot in the relationship when they have to decide if they are together or not. This is the book where Kate and Curran decide. Kate’s heritage bites her in the ass, his history comes to light, and they have to pick fight or flight.

This is not a minor plot point that could’ve been negotiated in a couple of pages and shoved aside. This was a major issue that had to have its own book. In essence, Gordon and I rebooted the series, as Reece very aptly put. At the end of it, some doors are closed and others opened. People within the series find themselves in new positions and have to deal with them. MAGIC BLEEDS ends with hope. It ties the plot issues raised in the previous three books and clears the field, so the characters can move on to new stories.

So what about the tension? I can tell you that everyone, from our editor to a prominent reviewer to betas, had come away from the book happy and excited for the next one. If you were hoping for perpetual Ranger/Morelli stand off a la Janet Evanovich, I’m afraid you will be disappointed. While I love that series, the romantic thread weaving through is basically repeated in each book. Yes, the books drip with tension, but by book five, I was growling, “Just pick one, God damn it.”

We’re not going that route. We made a very fantastic world, so we have to strive for realistic human relationships to balance out all of the outlandish details. It’s just not realistic for two consenting alpha adults to dance about each other for the duration of seven books and not do anything about it. They have to either break up or be together, and in MAGIC BLEEDS one of those will happen.

As to the plot itself, as I mentioned, Kate’s heritage comes to light and the effect on her life is catastrophic. She loses everything. It’s probably one of the grimmer books we’ve written, but so far all indications are that we have managed to deliver a satisfying, if a bit bloody, ending. So there you go. The grim, romantic, bloody reboot to the series. We hope you’ll like it.
